Key Responsibilities
Goods Receiving & Storage
- Receive deliveries and check quantities, item codes, descriptions, and condition against documents
- Report shortages, overages, damages, and discrepancies promptly to the supervisor
- Move, sort, label, and store merchandise in the correct locations, following FIFO where applicable
- Use trolleys, pallet jacks, and ladders only when trained and authorized
Replenishment & Sales-Floor Support
- Replenish shelves and displays according to store priorities
- Respond promptly to stock requests and help locate items in the back store
- Prepare merchandise for display, collection, delivery, or transfer
- Support promotions, seasonal activity, and peak trading periods
Inventory Accuracy, Safety & Teamwork
- Take part in stock counts and cycle counts, and record stock movements accurately
- Follow procedures for damaged, defective, returned, or quarantined goods
- Keep the back store clean, tidy, and free of trip hazards
- Follow health, safety, manual-handling, and fire-safety procedures, and report hazards immediately
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–2 years of retail or warehouse experience preferred
- Basic computer or stock-system skills, with willingness to learn store systems
- Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
- Basic numeracy for checking quantities and product information
- Ability to work in a team and prioritize tasks
- Physical ability to lift safely within working limits
