Key Responsibilities
Constructability Planning, Strategy & CEP Development
- Develop and implement the Constructability Program in line with ADNOC project requirements and Wood’s PMC delivery model
- Prepare the Constructability Execution Plan (CEP) and ensure its integration with the overall project execution strategy
- Define constructability objectives, procedures, and KPIs — establishing measurable performance targets for the constructability programme
- Ensure lessons learned from previous ADNOC projects are incorporated systematically into the constructability planning and review process
FEED & Detailed Engineering Design Review
- Review FEED and detailed engineering deliverables to ensure ease of construction and installation, modularization and prefabrication opportunities, and accessibility for construction and maintenance
- Provide early-phase input to eliminate design inefficiencies and reduce the likelihood of costly field rework during EPC execution
- Ensure alignment of all engineering deliverables with ADNOC standards, specifications, and HSE requirements throughout the design development cycle
- Coordinate closely with discipline engineers across civil, structural, piping, mechanical, and E&I to resolve constructability issues at the design stage
Construction Methodology Review & Modularization
- Evaluate and approve construction methodologies including heavy lifting plans, module installation strategies, and site logistics and sequencing
- Ensure all construction methods are safe, practical, and optimized for site conditions — including weight restrictions, access limitations, and crane capacity constraints
- Identify opportunities for offsite fabrication and modular construction — assessing benefits in terms of schedule reduction, cost savings, and risk mitigation
- Conduct constructability workshops and design reviews with ADNOC stakeholders, EPC contractor construction teams, and discipline engineers
Risk Management, HAZID/HAZOP Support & Site Involvement
- Identify constructability-related risks and constraints early — providing mitigation strategies for congested layouts, interface clashes, and limited access or lifting constraints
- Support project risk workshops and HAZID/HAZOP reviews — providing construction-perspective input to hazard identification and operability studies
- Provide ongoing support during the construction phase — conducting site visits to ensure compliance with constructability recommendations and resolution of field issues
- Capture and document lessons learned — contributing to ADNOC’s knowledge base and recommending improvements for future projects
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
Professional certifications are an advantage
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering — Mechanical, Civil, Structural, or equivalent (REQUIRED)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 15 years of experience in refinery projects (REQUIRED)
- At least 5+ years in constructability or construction engineering roles (REQUIRED)
- Strong experience in PMC roles on ADNOC or similar Middle East projects
- Experience in EPC/EPCM project execution environments
Technical Competencies
- Strong understanding of construction techniques and sequencing, modularization strategies, and heavy lifting and rigging
- Familiarity with ADNOC standards and specifications and international codes including API, ASME, and ISO
