Position Overview
This Fab Equipment Manager role involves overseeing equipment performance across critical fab process areas, ensuring high availability, stable process capability, and efficient capacity utilization. You will develop and implement equipment strategies, lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for equipment failures, manage equipment installation and qualification, evaluate new equipment technologies, and manage equipment suppliers, OEMs, and lifecycle plans.

Key Responsibilities
Equipment Strategy & Maintenance
- Develop and implement fab equipment strategies aligned with manufacturing and business objectives
- Lead equipment engineering and maintenance operations across fabrication areas
- Develop preventive, predictive, condition-based, and corrective maintenance programs
- Manage equipment engineers, technicians, specialists, and technical support teams
Troubleshooting, Installation & Qualification
- Lead troubleshooting and recovery of complex semiconductor fab equipment failures
- Conduct root-cause analysis for equipment failures and yield-impacting events
- Manage equipment installation, relocation, commissioning, qualification, and production release
- Support fab expansions, capacity increases, and manufacturing ramp programs
Supplier Management & Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate new equipment technologies, architectures, suppliers, and technical solutions
- Manage equipment suppliers, OEMs, contractors, and establish vendor SLAs
- Manage equipment lifecycle plans, including upgrades, refurbishment, and retirement
- Promote TPM, Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous-improvement methodologies
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience Requirements
- Strong experience in semiconductor fab equipment engineering, wafer fabrication, or manufacturing engineering
- Proven experience managing semiconductor fab equipment engineering or maintenance teams
- Experience managing equipment installation, commissioning, qualification, and production release
- Experience working with semiconductor equipment OEMs, suppliers, contractors, and service organizations
Essential Skills
- Strong understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes and associated equipment
- Knowledge of lithography, deposition, etch, clean, diffusion, implantation, CMP, or metrology equipment
- Strong understanding of vacuum systems, robotics, motion control, RF systems, and precision equipment
- Strong troubleshooting, failure analysis, and root-cause investigation capabilities
- Experience with MES, factory automation, equipment-control systems, or predictive maintenance platforms
- Excellent project-management and cross-functional leadership capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with reliability engineering, TPM, Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous-improvement methods
- Experience working with international and distributed teams
