Position Overview
This part-time remote role is ideal for a supply-chain professional who can analyze inventory data, anticipate requirements, coordinate with suppliers and internal teams, and help maintain healthy stock levels while minimizing excess and shortages.
Why This Role Matters: As Inventory Planner, you develop and maintain inventory plans based on demand, supply, sales, and operational requirements, monitor stock levels, inventory movements, lead times, and replenishment requirements, analyze demand forecasts, historical trends, sales data, and inventory performance, establish appropriate reorder points, safety-stock levels, and replenishment parameters, identify potential stock shortages, excess inventory, slow-moving items, and obsolete stock, work with sales, operations, procurement, warehouse, and logistics teams to align inventory plans, and prepare inventory reports, forecasts, KPIs, and management updates that support smarter, faster decision-making.
 Key Responsibilities
Inventory Planning & Monitoring
- Develop and maintain inventory plans based on demand, supply, sales, and operational requirements
- Monitor stock levels, inventory movements, lead times, and replenishment requirements
Demand Analysis & Replenishment
- Analyze demand forecasts, historical trends, sales data, and inventory performance
- Establish appropriate reorder points, safety-stock levels, and replenishment parameters
Supplier Coordination & Risk Identification
- Coordinate purchase and replenishment activities with procurement and suppliers
- Identify potential stock shortages, excess inventory, and obsolete stock
Reporting & Process Improvement
- Maintain accurate inventory planning data within ERP and supply-chain systems
- Prepare inventory reports, forecasts, KPIs, and management updates
- Recommend process improvements to increase inventory accuracy and cost efficiency
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or Operations preferred
Experience Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience in inventory planning, supply-chain planning, demand planning, or procurement preferred
- Strong understanding of inventory control, replenishment, demand forecasting, and supply planning
Essential Skills
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with ERP, inventory management, or supply-chain systems
- Ability to analyze large datasets and translate findings into practical inventory decisions
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple products, priorities, and deadlines independently
