Position Overview
This Senior Fire Engineer (Fire Alarms and other Electrical systems) role at Jensen Hughes in Dubai involves verification of design for electrical, fire protection, and life safety systems including fire alarm and detection systems, mass notification, suppression, smoke control, and special hazard systems. You will prepare and present technical reports, assessments, and design review cycles, review submission packs for regulatory compliance including Building Code reviews, plan and perform site surveys to inspect building features and systems, and plan resources while directing engineering activities for projects you directly administer.

Key Responsibilities
Design Verification & Engineering
- Verify design of electrical, fire protection, and life safety systems
- Cover fire alarm and detection systems, mass notification, and suppression
- Review smoke control and special hazard system designs
- Lead engineering design and modification activities for electrical circuits and equipment
Technical Reporting & Review
- Prepare and present technical reports and assessments
- Lead design review cycles for fire and life safety projects
- Communicate clear, technically sound engineering strategies
- Document assessment results with strong written communication
Regulatory Compliance & Authority Liaison
- Review submission packs for compliance with regulatory requirements
- Conduct Building Code reviews and analyses
- Engage and liaise with regulatory and approving authorities

Site Surveys & Project Direction
- Plan and help perform site surveys to inspect building features and systems

Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- An accredited bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic or related engineering field
Experience Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in design and layout of electrical systems, mainly fire alarm systems
- FLS (Fire and Life Safety) experience preferred
- Demonstrable experience in design, construction, and testing/commissioning of active fire protection systems
Essential Skills
- Verifiable knowledge of Middle East Building Code and Life Safety design practices and approvals
