Position Overview
This Trainee ROV Technician role involves ensuring understanding of pre-dive briefings, being conversant with equipment used during dives, and conducting pre/post dive checks with adherence to Company Quality Assurance and safety procedures. You will assist the Pilot in video observation and vehicle tooling operation, conduct informative commentary of ROV operations for client presentation, and maintain familiarity with client data recording requirements.

Key Responsibilities
ROV Maintenance & Pre-Dive Preparation
- Perform planned maintenance and repair tasks on ROV units and ancillary equipment
- Ensure understanding of pre-dive briefings and familiarity with equipment used during dives
- Conduct pre/post dive checks and assist in deployment and recovery of the ROV
Pilot Support & Data Capture
- Assist the Pilot in observation of video, monitoring of survey equipment, and vehicle tooling systems
- Conduct high-quality, informative commentary of ROV operations onto video for client presentation
- Maintain familiarity with client data recording/reporting requirements to enhance data capture quality
Safety & Environmental Management
- Ensure application of safety at work regulations
- Perform assigned tasks with due diligence regarding quality, safety, and environmental management systems
- Eliminate waste and contribute to continuous environmental improvement
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Completion of a recognised Trade Apprenticeship or college education in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/Hydraulic disciplines
Essential Skills
- Experience working with electrical/electronic and/or mechanical/hydraulic systems and equipment
- Ability to identify and report safety incidents, and recognise and correct unsafe conditions
- Ability to follow procedures and make suggestions for improvement
- Commitment to stopping the job when in doubt regarding safety
