Position Overview
The Gardens Partner keeps the grounds looking their best through every season. You will plant, water, fertilize, mulch, trim, and mow, while watching closely for pests, weeds, and plant health problems. It is a physical job that suits people who take pride in detail and enjoy being part of a team.
Good to Know: This is year-round outdoor work, so you should be comfortable in varying weather. Flexible availability, including some nights, weekends, holidays, and special events, may be needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Plant, water, fertilize, mulch, trim, mow, and maintain gardens
- Identify plants, weeds, pests, and common plant health concerns
- Assist with landscape installations and seasonal projects
- Operate irrigation systems and gardening equipment
- Safely use mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, tractors, skid steers, and hand tools
- Support environmentally responsible pest and weed management
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience with native species, basic landscaping concepts, and landscape equipment
- Understanding of irrigation systems and minor repairs
- Ability to spot pests and diseases and report what you see clearly
- Teamwork skills, a friendly manner, and basic math skills
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 80 pounds
