Position Overview
This Expert Data & Digital Energy Solutions (d/m/w) at Henkel Industrial Solutions in Düsseldorf Holthausen builds and implements the Data Platform 2030 as the central foundation for data-driven processes — models process maps, data architectures, and standardized data models — consolidates and integrates data from SAP and additional source systems — develops Digital Twin, Data Cube, and Power BI solutions for infrastructure process analysis and control — digitizes and automates reporting — establishes sustainable data governance — takes technical ownership of the energy data platform and digital solutions — drives AI-powered process optimization — and standardizes data knowledge transfer across Henkel’s German sites. From 2030, the role evolves into Expert Data & Digital Energy Solutions with full strategic and operational ownership of Henkel’s digital energy data infrastructure at global headquarters level.
Why This Role Matters: When Henkel’s production teams, facility managers, and executive leadership need reliable, real-time insight into energy consumption, infrastructure performance, and operational efficiency across the Düsseldorf Holthausen campus and German sites — it will be the Data Platform 2030 that you build, the Power BI dashboards that you design, the Digital Twin models that you architect, and the AI-powered optimization solutions that you implement that give them those answers. A correctly integrated SAP data pipeline that surfaces energy cost variances before they become financial surprises, a Digital Twin that predicts infrastructure maintenance needs six weeks in advance, a Power BI dashboard that shows every site energy manager exactly which process is consuming above-budget energy at 8 AM every Monday morning, a data governance framework that ensures every figure in every report can be traced to a verified, auditable source — this is what expert-level data and digital energy engineering delivers at a company like Henkel. Building it well, building it to last, and building it in a way that empowers rather than overwhelms the people who use it every day: that is the genuine technical and organizational value of this role.
Key Responsibilities — Expert Data & Digital Energy Solutions Düsseldorf
Data Platform 2030 — Build, Architecture & Integration
- Build and implement Henkel’s Data Platform 2030 as the central foundation for data-driven processes — defining the platform architecture, integration approach, data source prioritization, and governance framework that will enable reliable, scalable, and auditable data flows across Henkel’s Industrial Solutions operations in Düsseldorf and across German sites from 2027 through 2030 and beyond
- Model process maps, data architectures, and standardized data models — developing the conceptual and logical data structures that translate Henkel’s industrial, energy, and infrastructure processes into well-defined, consistent, and analytically useful data representations that serve both operational reporting and strategic decision-making requirements
- Consolidate, integrate, and quality-assure data from SAP and additional systems and data sources — connecting disparate operational data sources through robust ETL/ELT pipelines, resolving data quality issues, establishing master data standards, and ensuring that every data asset on the platform meets the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness requirements that reliable analysis and reporting demand
Digital Twin, Data Cube, Power BI & Reporting Automation
- Develop Digital Twin, Data Cube, and Power BI solutions for infrastructure process analysis and control — building the analytical applications that transform raw operational and energy data into actionable operational intelligence, enabling facility managers, engineers, and executives to monitor, analyze, and optimize infrastructure performance in real time through intuitive, well-designed Power BI dashboards and reports
- Digitize and automate reports while establishing sustainable data governance — replacing manual, error-prone reporting processes with automated, governed data pipelines and self-service analytics capabilities, and building the data governance policies, ownership structures, data quality standards, and lineage documentation that keep the platform trustworthy and maintainable over its full lifecycle
- Take technical ownership of the energy data platform, Digital Twin, and further digital solutions — serving as the expert point of contact for all questions related to the architecture, development, integration, and operation of Henkel’s digital energy data infrastructure, ensuring that the platform continues to deliver reliable, accurate, and useful data products to all stakeholders across German sites
AI/ML Optimization, Process Interfaces & Knowledge Transfer
- Deploy, develop, and communicate AI-powered solutions for core process optimization — identifying where machine learning, predictive analytics, anomaly detection, or generative AI capabilities can deliver measurable operational improvements in energy consumption, infrastructure maintenance, supply management, or process efficiency, and driving implementation from proof-of-concept through to production deployment
- Identify optimization potentials, implement new system interfaces, and standardize knowledge transfer to German sites — acting as the bridge between the Data Platform 2030’s central capabilities and the data and digital needs of Henkel’s German manufacturing and logistics sites, translating platform functionality into practical site-level tools and ensuring consistent data standards across the German network
- Travel within Germany for site coordination, knowledge transfer, and digital solution implementation support — working with facility managers, engineers, and IT teams at Henkel’s German sites to align data platform standards, implement digital energy monitoring solutions, and support the adoption of the AI and analytics tools developed at headquarters
Qualifications & Profile — What You Bring
Essential Requirements
- Completed technical or commercial training or degree with a background in business, natural sciences, or energy technology — providing the interdisciplinary foundation that spans the technical data engineering, energy management, and business process dimensions of this role
- At least 3 years of professional experience in IT, digitalization, AI/ML, SAP, data management, and/or Lean process improvement — with demonstrable applied results in data integration, reporting automation, or digital transformation projects
- Strong IT affinity with proven Power BI expertise and genuine interest in databases, software development, programming, and measurement technology — the technical curiosity and hands-on capability that advanced data platform work requires
- Excellent communication skills with a service-oriented and customer-focused approach — for effective collaboration with stakeholders across technical and non-technical functions at headquarters and German sites
- Strong technical knowledge with a high standard of quality consciousness — for delivering data platform outputs that meet the accuracy, reliability, and governance requirements of a global headquarters environment
- Fluent German (mandatory) — good English skills desirable — for working effectively in Henkel’s multilingual Düsseldorf headquarters environment
- Willingness to travel within Germany — for site coordination, knowledge transfer, and digital solution implementation support across Henkel’s German network
