About Almedia
Business: Marketing platform that rewards users for engaging with advertisers’ products
Community: Over 95 million users
Growth: Europe’s #3 fastest-growing company in 2025 (FT1000)
Goal: Become Germany’s second bootstrapped unicorn
Benefits & Career Opportunity
Equity: Every Berlin employee gets a stake
Pay: Top-of-market baseline, with rewards tied to impact
Team: Small, sharp team where every hire raises the bar
Growth: Profitable from launch, with higher revenue per employee than Big Tech
Position Overview
As Staff Data Scientist, you own measurement strategy: causal frameworks that reveal unit economics, attribution and intervention impact, with clear documentation others can build on. You build experimentation infrastructure that speeds up iteration while keeping statistical rigour. You own the high-leverage models that move unit economics, such as pricing, ranking and user incentive systems, and productionise them with engineering. You mentor junior data scientists, set the standard for causality and trade-off thinking, and work with Product, Engineering and Leadership to turn insight into business action.
Why This Role Matters: A staff role at a fast-growing, profitable company means real influence on unit economics, not just reporting. The firm keeps its team small on purpose, offers equity to everyone in Berlin and says it pays at the top of the market for outlier impact.

- Build experimentation platforms that allow rapid iteration with statistical rigour

Qualifications
Experience
- Proven autonomy: a track record of moving unit economics through novel approaches
- Deep experience with causal inference: propensity matching, DID, synthetic control, IV estimation
- Led complex multi-arm experiments and designed or owned MMM, MTA or uplift modelling systems
Technical Skills
- Built and deployed models in product environments; gaming, AdTech and user incentive systems preferred
- Comfortable with modern data stacks: dbt, Airflow, Kubernetes, Terraform
Personal
- Strong communication, able to turn complex analysis into decisions
- Drive clarity in ambiguous situations and bring stakeholders along
