Position Overview
This Laboratory Manager role involves supervising and coordinating all laboratory operations including chemical, microbiological, and environmental sections. You will lead laboratory management functions, ensure compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, drive continuous improvement initiatives, coordinate with business development for service promotion, and manage budgeting, inventory, and resource planning while delivering accurate and reliable laboratory reports.

Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Operations Management
- Supervise and coordinate all laboratory operations including chemical, microbiological, and environmental sections
- Ensure efficient performance and compliance with company quality policies
- Ensure timely delivery of accurate and reliable laboratory reports
- Monitor laboratory workflow and optimize operational efficiency
Management & Financial Functions
- Lead laboratory management functions including budgeting and financial planning
- Manage invoice and inventory reporting systems
- Handle purchase approvals and procurement processes
- Conduct resource planning for manpower and technical requirements
- Perform business performance analysis to support commercial objectives
Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) standards
- Monitor corrective actions (Non-Conformance Reports – NCRs)
- Supervise internal audits and verification processes
- Verify reports and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Support QA Manager in maintaining and expanding laboratory scope
Continuous Improvement & Business Development
- Drive continuous improvement through customer satisfaction monitoring
- Handle complaint resolution and management review meetings
- Lead goal setting and performance improvement initiatives
- Coordinate with business development to market laboratory services
- Coordinate with Sales/BD teams to market products and promotions
- Enhance overall laboratory performance and service delivery
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Food Science degree or related education
- OR Food Safety degree
- OR Microbiology degree
- OR Chemistry degree
- OR other related scientific education
Professional Certifications
- FSMS (Food Safety Management System) certification
- HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) certification
- ISO certifications (relevant to laboratory operations)
Experience Requirements
- Proven experience as Laboratory Manager within same industry
- OR related field experience such as Testing, Chemicals, Environmental, Microbial
- Experience in coordinating with Sales/BD to market products and promotions
- Laboratory management and operations experience
- Business development and service promotion experience
