Position Overview
This Agriculture Specialist volunteer role at Wycliffe Associates is a calling-driven position within the Field Services Department. Reporting to the Director of Support Services, the specialist oversees the Community Development program that provides direct and indirect support to church partners engaged in Bible translation. The role involves leadership of agriculture and water projects, sustainable development planning, collaboration with field teams, and annual program evaluation through SWOT analysis — all in service of spreading the Word of God to unreached people groups.

Key Responsibilities
Community Development Leadership
- Provide global leadership oversight and coordination for all Community Development projects
- Work closely with the Director of Support Services and VP of Field Services to plan and enhance the Community Development program
- Advance Community Development initiatives internationally in alignment with the Field Services Tactical Plan
- Undertake annual SWOT analysis to evaluate program strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats
Agriculture & Water Project Consultation
- Provide expert assistance and consultation for water and agriculture projects through research and effective communication
- Manage and promote freshwater projects, farm animal projects, and other agriculture-based micro-economic opportunities
- Conduct research to determine the legitimate need for water and agriculture projects in partner communities
- Develop and maintain networking relationships with organizations offering community development initiatives
Field Partner Collaboration
- Work closely with Regional Directors to ensure effective communication with approved church partners
- Collaborate with Field Operations team members and WA staff to advance community development internationally
- Develop sustainable micro-economic ventures for church partners undertaking church-owned Bible translation work
- Build strong working relationships with strategic partner organizations and field personnel
Program Communication & Documentation
- Document and communicate community development needs and outcomes to motivate potential donors
- Provide professional program updates to WA staff to facilitate expansion into new countries and regions
- Develop and refine the Community Development program to meet the specific needs of church partners
- Maintain responsible resource management across all active projects
