Position Overview
This Junior Food Safety Officer role at Mosaic Group of Restaurants in the UAE is a full-time, night shift position that places you at the core of the restaurant group’s food safety and quality control operations. You will be responsible for conducting kitchen inspections, monitoring hygiene and food safety standards, performing routine quality audits, and actively contributing to continuous improvement programmes across all food operations. Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Quality Inspections
- Conduct thorough quality inspections across all kitchen operations during night shift hours
- Verify that food preparation, storage, and handling practices comply with UAE food safety regulations
- Identify and document non-conformances and work with kitchen teams to implement corrective actions promptly
- Ensure all kitchen areas maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and operational hygiene
Food Safety & Hygiene Monitoring
- Monitor food safety and hygiene standards consistently across all areas of restaurant kitchen operations
- Ensure compliance with HACCP principles, food temperature controls, and cross-contamination prevention protocols
- Check and verify food labelling, storage conditions, expiry dates, and allergen management procedures
- Identify hygiene risks and escalate concerns to senior food safety management with clear documentation
Quality Audits & Reporting
- Perform routine quality audits across food production, storage, and service areas on a scheduled basis
- Prepare accurate and timely audit reports capturing findings, observations, and recommended improvement actions
- Maintain detailed records of all inspections, audits, and corrective measures taken for compliance purposes
- Support management with data and insights needed for food safety performance reviews and reporting
Continuous Improvement & Team Support
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on elevating food quality and safety standards across all outlets
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and management to promote a strong food safety culture throughout the restaurant group
- Assist in developing and delivering food safety awareness and hygiene training for kitchen team members
- Contribute creative ideas and practical solutions to strengthen the group’s overall food quality management systems
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Food Technology, Food Science, HACCP, Quality Management, or a related field is preferred
- Candidates with relevant certifications in food safety, hygiene management, or quality control are encouraged to apply
