Position Overview
The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) at MultiBank Group is a senior quality engineering role at the intersection of software development and test automation. You will design and build enterprise-grade automation frameworks for web, mobile, API, and backend services — ensuring the reliability and performance of trading platforms that process real-money financial transactions at scale. Working closely with Engineering, Product, DevOps, and QA teams, you will integrate quality throughout the full software development lifecycle, own CI/CD pipeline quality gates, and automate complex trading workflow validations across MT4, MT5, and proprietary brokerage systems used by millions of clients globally.

Key Responsibilities
Test Automation & Quality Engineering
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for web, mobile, API, and backend fintech services
- Build and execute automated functional, integration, regression, and full end-to-end test suites across trading platforms
- Develop reusable testing libraries, utilities, and shared tools to improve automation coverage and team efficiency
- Automate validation of trading workflows, financial transactions, order lifecycle processes, and platform integrations
- Implement comprehensive API, database, and backend service testing strategies for financial system reliability
- Monitor and continuously improve automation coverage, test execution effectiveness, and platform quality metrics
Engineering & CI/CD Pipeline Integration
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps
- Establish automated quality gates and release validation processes that protect production from defects
- Collaborate with developers to improve application testability, reliability, and long-term maintainability
- Participate in code reviews, technical architecture discussions, and engineering design sessions from a quality perspective
- Champion shift-left testing practices and drive quality ownership across all engineering teams
Platform Reliability & Release Quality
- Investigate production defects, identify root causes, and implement automated preventative test coverage
- Support release readiness activities and actively participate in go/no-go deployment decisions
- Validate system stability, reliability, and performance across high-volume trading and brokerage platforms
- Contribute to testing strategies for business-critical financial transaction processing systems under peak load conditions
Cross-Team Collaboration & Agile Delivery
- Work closely with Product Managers, Developers, DevOps engineers, and QA teams throughout every sprint
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and requirement reviews to ensure quality is considered from day one
- Contribute to testing standards, automation best practices documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support knowledge sharing across engineering teams to raise the overall quality engineering capability of the organisation
Technical Skills & Requirements
Programming & Automation Frameworks
- Strong programming skills in one or more of: Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C# — applied to test automation
- Hands-on experience with automation frameworks including Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or Appium
- Strong experience testing REST APIs using Postman, REST Assured, Playwright API Testing, or equivalent tooling
- Proven ability to design, build, and maintain automation frameworks from the ground up in an enterprise environment
Engineering & Infrastructure Skills
- Experience with CI/CD platforms including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps pipelines
- Solid familiarity with Git, Docker, containerised environments, and modern software development workflows
- Working understanding of microservices architectures, distributed systems, and event-driven system design
- Experience with SQL and database-level validation testing for data integrity and transaction accuracy
Fintech & Trading Domain Knowledge
- Proven experience working within fintech, brokerage, trading, banking, payments, or other regulated financial environments
- Knowledge of trading platforms such as MT4, MT5, or comparable brokerage and order management systems
- Understanding of trade lifecycle workflows, order management, market data flows, and financial transaction processing
- Familiarity with FIX Protocol, bridge technologies, or core brokerage infrastructure is a strong advantage
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related technical field
- 5+ years of proven experience in QA Automation, Quality Engineering, or SDET roles in a professional environment
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining enterprise-grade automated testing frameworks at scale
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and complex problem-solving skills in high-stakes financial systems
