Position Overview
This Civil Engineer role involves supporting the Senior Engineer in all civil-related engineering works at a major healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi. You will provide input on planning and design, review civil engineering drawings and technical documents, liaise with consultants and contractors, prepare cost estimations, and ensure all works comply with contract specifications, drawings, and approved programmes throughout each project phase.

Key Responsibilities
Planning & Design Support
- Provide input on planning and design of all civil works for the department
- Identify project requirements and prepare project scope, work breakdown, and material plans
- Review design specifications, blueprints, and technical drawings for accuracy
- Research suitable engineering solutions and produce models or prototypes where needed
Project Coordination & Documentation
- Review civil engineering drawings submitted by consultants and contractors across project phases
- Liaise with consultants and contractors to approve correct drawings and resolve design conflicts
- Maintain document control systems for construction and maintenance information
- Prepare project status reports and keep relevant records updated
Site Inspection & Quality Control
- Carry out physical site inspections to confirm compliance with contractual conditions and specifications
- Plan, arrange, and record inspection and test activities for materials and workmanship
- Ensure contractor compliance with technical specifications and bill of quantity requirements
- Identify faulty construction issues and ensure appropriate rectification is carried out
Technical Support & Team Coordination
- Provide technical support and advice to the Senior Engineer for day-to-day civil works management
- Attend interdisciplinary and committee meetings to provide engineering input
- Coordinate with contractors and consultants weekly to discuss progress and resolve issues
- Analyze risks related to natural disasters and design structures to meet appropriate safety standards
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field
Experience Requirements
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in a similar civil engineering industry role
- Experience reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation
Essential Skills
- Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering design, materials, and construction methods
- Ability to prepare engineering calculations and supervise drafting work
- Strong coordination skills for working with consultants, contractors, and cross-functional teams
- Excellent attention to detail for document control and quality checks
