Position Overview
This Facade Engineer role coordinates facade engineering, procurement, fabrication, delivery, and installation activities to ensure compliance with approved project programmes. You will monitor facade progress against schedules, review shop drawings and material submittals, coordinate design integration across structural, architectural, and MEP disciplines, conduct site inspections to verify installation quality, and report construction issues while coordinating corrective actions with contractors and consultants.

Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Progress Monitoring
- Coordinate facade engineering, procurement, fabrication, delivery, and installation activities
- Monitor facade progress against project schedules and identify potential delays or risks
- Assist in tracking project milestones and provide regular progress updates to the Project Manager
- Support project planning activities and monitor contractor performance throughout the project lifecycle
Design Review & Technical Coordination
- Review facade shop drawings, material submittals, technical proposals, mock-ups, and method statements
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, facade consultants, and suppliers
- Review facade interfaces with structural works, waterproofing, glazing, architectural finishes, BMU systems, and MEP services
- Assist in resolving design clashes and technical issues during design development and construction
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure facade systems comply with approved specifications, authority regulations, and international standards
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to resolve technical and construction issues
Site Inspections & Quality Control
- Conduct routine site inspections to monitor facade installation activities
- Monitor workmanship, installation quality, and adherence to approved method statements
- Coordinate inspections with consultants and QA/QC teams for timely approvals
- Verify facade installation is completed per project specifications and approved schedules
- Report construction issues and coordinate corrective actions with contractors and consultants
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in facade engineering, facade construction, or building envelope systems
- Experience in high-rise residential, commercial, hospitality, or mixed-use developments preferred
- Experience working with Developers, Main Contractors, or Specialist Facade Contractors
Technical Knowledge
- Good understanding of facade procurement, fabrication, installation, testing, and handover processes
- Knowledge of curtain wall systems, unitized facades, stick systems, aluminium systems, glazing, stone cladding, metal cladding, and GRC/GFRC
- Understanding of facade interfaces with structural, architectural, waterproofing, and MEP works
- Familiarity with UAE building regulations, Dubai Municipality, Civil Defence, and international facade standards
Technical & Software Skills
- Ability to review technical drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and project management software
- Knowledge of BIM/Revit is an advantage
- Strong coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills
