Key Responsibilities — All Inspector Positions
Regulatory Inspections of Establishments & Supply Chains
- Conduct scheduled and unannounced regulatory inspections of a wide range of regulated establishments — including pharmaceutical manufacturers, agricultural input suppliers, veterinary medicine distributors, licensed warehouses, retail pharmacies, and distribution outlets — across the assigned emirate or region
- Verify compliance with applicable UAE federal and emirate-level laws, regulations, quality standards, and approved procedures — assessing whether each establishment’s operations, documentation, and practices meet the regulatory requirements applicable to their licence type and product category
- Review establishment licences, product registrations, employee qualification records, storage conditions, manufacturing and processing records, and distribution and sales practices — ensuring that every regulatory requirement relevant to the establishment’s operations is being met consistently and completely
- Identify violations, deficiencies, and areas of non-compliance during inspection activities — documenting findings accurately and objectively, classifying deficiencies by severity, and recommending proportionate corrective and preventive actions that will bring the establishment into full compliance
Inspection Report Preparation & Compliance Follow-Up
- Prepare detailed, accurate, and professionally written inspection reports following each regulatory visit — documenting all observations, findings, evidence collected, deficiencies identified, and compliance recommendations in a structured format that meets EDE’s reporting standards and supports regulatory decision-making
- Follow up on compliance requirements with inspected establishments — monitoring the implementation of corrective and preventive actions within agreed timeframes, conducting re-inspections where required, and reporting compliance status to EDE management in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintain comprehensive, well-organised inspection records and compliance files — ensuring that all inspection documentation, correspondence, and follow-up records are correctly filed and accessible for management review, inter-agency coordination, and regulatory enforcement activities
- Coordinate with EDE laboratories, other regulatory authorities, and relevant technical teams — sharing inspection findings, requesting product testing where indicated, and collaborating effectively across the broader UAE regulatory network to ensure consistent, coordinated enforcement of health protection standards
Agricultural Inspector — Specific Responsibilities
- Inspect agricultural establishments, input suppliers, agrochemical warehouses, and distribution outlets — verifying that pesticides, fertilisers, and other agricultural inputs are registered, correctly labelled, properly stored, and distributed and sold in compliance with UAE agricultural regulations and international standards
- Review agricultural product registrations, storage condition compliance, pesticide handling procedures, and distribution records — identifying non-compliance issues and recommending corrective actions that protect the UAE’s agricultural health, food safety, and environmental standards
- Stay current on UAE agricultural regulations, international standards for agrochemical safety, and best practices in agricultural product regulatory compliance — applying up-to-date regulatory knowledge to every inspection activity
- Contribute to the broader EDE mission of protecting agricultural health across the UAE — collaborating with Ministry of Climate Change and Environment counterparts and other relevant authorities to ensure a coordinated, comprehensive approach to agricultural input regulation
Veterinary Inspector — Specific Responsibilities
- Inspect veterinary medicine manufacturers, importers, distributors, and retail outlets — verifying that veterinary drugs, vaccines, biological products, and related items are registered, correctly stored, properly labelled, and distributed and sold in accordance with UAE veterinary regulatory requirements
- Verify compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for veterinary medicines and vaccines — assessing manufacturing processes, quality control systems, batch record documentation, and product release procedures against applicable GMP standards
- Conduct product sampling of veterinary medicines and vaccines — collecting representative samples in accordance with sampling protocols, coordinating submission to EDE laboratories for testing, and following up on test results and any compliance actions required
- Monitor storage conditions for veterinary products — verifying cold chain compliance for temperature-sensitive vaccines and biologicals, assessing storage facility conditions, and identifying and reporting any storage practices that risk product quality or public or animal health
Pharmaceutical Inspectors — Specific Responsibilities
- Inspect licensed pharmaceutical establishments in the assigned region — including pharmaceutical manufacturers, importers, wholesalers, retail pharmacies, hospital pharmacies, and pharmaceutical warehouses — verifying compliance with UAE pharmaceutical regulations, Good Distribution Practices (GDP), and applicable quality standards
- Review pharmaceutical product licences, storage conditions, dispensing records, controlled substance management, cold chain compliance, and staff qualification records — identifying and documenting deficiencies and recommending corrective actions that protect patient safety and pharmaceutical product integrity
- Assess pharmaceutical distribution practices — verifying that products are sourced from licensed suppliers, transported under appropriate conditions, and distributed through approved channels without deviation from regulatory requirements

Candidate Eligibility & Qualifications
Agricultural Inspector
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Science, Agronomy, or a closely related agricultural field — this academic qualification is required for the Agricultural Inspector position
- Both experienced agricultural professionals with regulatory inspection or compliance background and fresh graduates with a relevant degree are actively encouraged to apply
Veterinary Inspector
