Position Overview

The Logistics Team Leader (m/f/d) at Menicon’s Offenbach European Distribution Center is a central operational leadership role — serving as the key interface between the logistics team and management across one of three warehouse areas. You will plan, coordinate, and optimize daily processes to ensure all tasks are completed on time and to the required quality standards. You will lead your team through regular discussions — including difficult conversations — make confident decisions under time pressure, contribute ideas for process improvement to the Operations Manager, and actively participate in the work yourself. Menicon is looking for a hands-on leader who inspires by example and takes genuine responsibility for their team’s performance, morale, and results.

Why This Role Matters: At Menicon’s European Distribution Center, the Logistics Team Leader is the person who determines whether the day runs smoothly or not. Your ability to plan shifts, resolve bottlenecks, communicate clearly, and keep a motivated team focused on quality and efficiency directly affects Menicon’s ability to deliver high-quality contact lenses to customers and healthcare partners across Europe on time. For an experienced warehouse professional ready to step fully into leadership — this is the role that rewards that ambition.

 Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Serve as the central point of contact between your logistics team and operations management — ensuring clear, consistent communication flows in both directions at all times
  • Conduct regular team discussions including performance reviews, feedback conversations, and — where necessary — critical or disciplinary dialogues in a professional, respectful manner
  • Actively promote open communication within the team, building a culture where every team member feels heard, valued, and motivated to perform at their best
  • Lead by example with a genuine hands-on mentality — pitching in yourself and demonstrating the work ethic and standards you expect from your team every day

Operations Planning & Process Optimization

  • Plan, coordinate, and optimize daily logistics processes across your assigned warehouse area — ensuring all tasks are completed on time, accurately, and to Menicon’s quality standards
  • Maintain a clear operational overview of your area at all times — managing workload distribution, identifying bottlenecks, and making confident decisions in time-critical situations
  • Collaborate closely with the Operations Manager, contributing ideas and practical insights for continuous process improvement across the distribution center
  • Monitor efficiency, quality, and team performance KPIs — taking proactive corrective action when processes drift from targets

Warehouse Operations Execution

  • Lead and actively participate in day-to-day warehouse logistics operations across your assigned area — whether Goods Receipt & Replenishment, Pick & Pack, or Inventory Control
  • Ensure all warehouse processes are executed in compliance with Menicon’s operational standards, safety requirements, and quality expectations
  • Utilize ERP systems — particularly Microsoft Navision Business Central — for operational data management, stock tracking, and process documentation as required

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience Requirements

  • Several years of hands-on experience in warehouse logistics — with proven experience managing or leading employees in a warehouse or distribution center environment
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate daily logistics operations, manage team workload, and maintain operational efficiency under time pressure
  • A genuinely hands-on working style — you are not a desk manager but an active team leader who participates in the work and leads from the front

Skills & Competencie

  • Excellent German language skills — both spoken and written — required for team communication, operational documentation, and management reporting; English is an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills — confident speaking clearly with individuals and groups, and capable of handling both positive and challenging conversations professionally
  • Strong organizational skills with solid process understanding — able to structure workflows, manage priorities, and keep the team focused during busy operational periods
  • Good computer skills including MS Office proficiency; experience with ERP systems — particularly Microsoft Navision BC — is a clear advantage
  • High sense of responsibility, decisiveness, and the mental agility to transfer knowledge and make sound judgments even under time pressure
