Position Overview
As Technical Manager – EMENA Franchise, you balance strategy with hands-on impact. You will lead technical assessments, reviews, and audits with franchise partners, manage technical, food safety, and quality escalations through investigations and root-cause analysis, build cross-functional partnerships across Operations, Food & Beverage, Brand Excellence, and Retail Operations, support technical commercialisation activities, deliver technical training to partners, and provide regional technical insight supporting Costa’s global technical strategy across EMENA.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Assessments & Governance
- Lead technical assessments, reviews, and audits with franchise partners
- Use QMS performance data, technical reporting, and trend analysis to drive corrective actions
- Resolve escalations and embed a culture of continuous improvement
Food Safety & Quality Escalations
- Manage technical, food safety, and quality escalations
- Lead investigations and root-cause analysis to protect consumers
- Maintain Costa brand standards through corrective action follow-up
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Build strong partnerships across Operations, Food & Beverage, Brand Excellence, and Retail Operations
- Embed technical standards to support operational excellence
- Support technical commercialisation, ensuring products meet specification standards
Training & Regional Strategy
- Deliver technical training and coaching to franchise partners
- Ensure compliance with Costa’s QMS, policies, and legal requirements
- Provide regional technical insight to support global technical strategy across EMENA
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Degree or HND in Food Science, Science, or a related discipline
Experience Requirements
- Experience managing supplier quality, product quality, and technical commercialisation processes
- Qualified ISO Lead Auditor with knowledge of ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, BRC, or IFS
- Experience working across international markets with global suppliers and partners
Essential Skills
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, allergen management, HACCP, and food legislation
- Skilled in root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies, including Lean principles
- Flexibility to travel and build relationships with global suppliers and partners
