Position Overview
The Quality Control Technician at Luxeo Labs, Sharjah is a technically rigorous laboratory role at the heart of the company’s quality assurance function. You will conduct systematic QC testing on incoming raw materials, in-process intermediates, and finished fragrance compounds using GC-MS, GC-FID, colorimetry, and other precision analytical instruments. You will maintain detailed quality records, issue and manage Certificates of Analysis (COAs), ensure full compliance with IFRA regulations, support raw material inventory and storage compliance, and collaborate closely with the formulation, procurement, and technical perfumery teams to troubleshoot quality issues and drive continuous improvement of QC processes.

Key Responsibilities
QC Testing — Raw Materials, Intermediates & Finished Products
- Conduct systematic quality control testing on all incoming raw materials, in-process intermediates, and finished fragrance compounds against defined specifications and acceptance criteria
- Perform comprehensive analytical testing using GC-MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry), GC-FID (Gas Chromatography-Flame Ionization Detection), colorimetry, and other laboratory instrumentation as required
- Evaluate test results against quality specifications and clearly communicate findings to the formulation and production teams in a timely manner
- Reject or quarantine non-conforming raw materials and finished compounds and initiate investigation and corrective action procedures
IFRA Compliance & Quality Standards Monitoring
- Monitor and maintain all quality standards in strict accordance with IFRA (International Fragrance Association) regulations and applicable industry compliance requirements
- Ensure all tested fragrance compounds and raw materials meet IFRA usage guidelines, safety standards, and regulatory thresholds for all applicable product categories
- Stay current with updates to IFRA standards and communicate relevant regulatory changes to the technical perfumery and formulation teams
COA Documentation & Quality Records Management
- Document all test results accurately and issue Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for all raw materials and finished fragrance compounds tested in the laboratory
- Maintain comprehensive, well-organized quality records, test logs, inspection reports, and traceability documentation for regulatory and internal audit purposes
- Manage and update the QC database to ensure all material test histories are accurately recorded and readily accessible to relevant teams
Raw Material Inventory & Storage Compliance
- Support raw material inventory management by ensuring all materials are correctly identified, labeled, and stored under the appropriate conditions to prevent degradation or contamination
- Monitor storage area conditions including temperature, humidity, and segregation compliance for all fragrance raw materials and intermediates
- Coordinate with the procurement team on raw material intake, sampling schedules, and quarantine management for materials pending QC release
Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement
- Assist in identifying and troubleshooting quality issues and deviations in coordination with the formulation, production, and technical perfumery teams
- Contribute actively to the continuous improvement of QC processes, testing methodologies, and laboratory procedures to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance
- Participate in internal quality reviews and support process improvement initiatives that strengthen Luxeo’s overall quality management system
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirement
- Degree or Diploma in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related scientific field
Experience Requirements
- Prior experience in Quality Control, ideally within the fragrance, flavor, cosmetics, personal care, or chemical industry
- Familiarity with GC-MS, GC-FID, and other analytical laboratory instrumentation and techniques is a significant advantage
- Knowledge of IFRA regulations and fragrance compliance standards is highly preferred
Key Skills & Additional Requirements
- Exceptional attention to detail — accurate and consistent analytical testing and quality documentation are non-negotiable in this role
- Excellent documentation skills for maintaining COAs, test records, and quality reports to a professional laboratory standard
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-team laboratory environment
- Fluent English — verbal and written — for internal communication, documentation, and team coordination; additional languages are a bonus
- Existing UAE residency is required — candidates currently based in the UAE will be prioritized
