Position Overview
The Agricultural Crop Farm Supervisor coordinates labor, irrigation, crop production activities, equipment, and field resources to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable farming operations. As the primary link between Farm Management and field operations, you will oversee pruning, training, tying, thinning, irrigation, fertilizer applications, pest and disease management support, harvest preparation, and orchard sanitation, while ensuring production goals, quality standards, labor efficiency, and regulatory compliance are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
- Directly supervise Crew Bosses assigned to multiple ranches
- Provide leadership, coaching, training, and performance management
- Assist with interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and employee development
Ranch Operations & Labor Management
- Plan and oversee pruning, training, tying, thinning, and harvest activities
- Coordinate staffing between ranches based on operational priorities
- Monitor labor productivity, review reports, and verify time records
Irrigation & Agronomy Coordination
- Work with the Irrigation Supervisor to develop schedules and improve water-use efficiency
- Partner with the Agronomist/PCA on fertility programs and pest management
- Ensure field crews execute recommendations safely and accurately
Safety Leadership & Production Management
- Conduct field safety inspections and lead documented tailgate safety meetings
- Maintain compliance with Cal/OSHA, Heat Illness Prevention, and IIPP standards
- Monitor labor productivity, crop quality, production timelines, and operational costs
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Pomology, Plant Science, or related field preferred
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of commercial farming experience
- Minimum 3 years supervising agricultural employees
- Experience managing multiple crews and ranches preferred
Essential Skills
- Strong knowledge of California tree fruit farming practices
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Valid California Driver License
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic payroll/labor systems
- Knowledge of California agricultural labor laws and piece-rate operations
