Position Overview
The Chief Compliance Officer will own the compliance agenda end-to-end, ensuring readiness for VARA expectations, ongoing supervision, and scalable controls as volumes grow. This role operates as VARA’s day-to-day interface, while the CEO is expected to demonstrate clear judgement and credibility during regulator engagement — requiring a builder mentality and the ability to move fast without compromising regulatory credibility or control integrity.

Stakeholder Management
- Establish credibility with VARA early, ideally leveraging prior UAE regulatory engagement

🎓 Qualifications & Requirements
Experience Requirements
- Senior compliance leader, UAE resident, with 5+ years of relevant experience
- Hands-on exposure to regulated financial services environments aligned to VASP, fintech, or payments
- Comfortable operating as the primary regulator interface, with confidence to build and maintain credibility as volumes scale
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior UAE regulatory engagement, ideally with an existing VARA relationship
- Ability to be accepted as a Responsible Individual within a comparable regulated UAE environment
