Essential Responsibilities
Modernization Configuration & Technical Proposal Development
- Develop modernization configurations and technical proposals in accordance with Otis company standards, safety codes, and customer-specific requirements
- Evaluate feasibility of modernization solutions — considering existing equipment condition, shaft constraints, machine room limitations, and site-specific engineering challenges
- Review technical specifications, tender requirements, and consultant documentation to ensure full compliance with applicable standards and customer expectations
- Support value engineering initiatives to optimise project costs while maintaining Otis safety and performance standards throughout
Site Survey, Technical Risk & Compliance
- Conduct comprehensive on-site surveys and issue detailed survey reports — including technical findings, risks, and recommended modernization solutions
- Identify site safety risks during surveys and provide engineering mitigation recommendations
- Identify technical risks that may impact project costs, delivery timelines, and installation requirements — escalating and managing risks proactively
- Ensure modernization solutions comply with local UAE authority requirements, EN81 elevator safety standards, Otis engineering standards, and applicable safety regulations
Project Handover, Installation Support & Coordination
- Ensure complete technical handover of awarded projects to Project Management and Operations teams — delivering full technical clarity at the project transition
- Support field teams during installation by resolving technical issues and clarifying engineering requirements in real time
- Coordinate with Otis factories, engineering centres, procurement teams, and logistics functions to ensure accuracy of ordered materials
- Be accountable for accuracy and completeness of technical surveys, modernization configurations, material requirements, and cost optimisation — supporting timely project delivery
- Coordinate with and provide technical support for the sales and estimation teams throughout the bid and project phases
Qualifications & Requirements
Critical Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related technical field
- Minimum 5 years of elevator industry experience — modernization, engineering, field operations, technical support, installation, or service
- Strong knowledge of elevator and escalator modernization products, applications, and technical configurations
- Experience in site surveying, technical estimation, and modernization solution development
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications
- Valid UAE driving license — mandatory
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Basic Qualifications
- Ability to work in a highly team-oriented and dynamic environment across multiple simultaneous projects
