Position Overview
This Trade Finance Officer role processes Trade Finance transactions including Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees, Documentary Collections, Shipping Guarantees, and Trust Receipts. You will review trade documents for compliance, verify customer instructions before execution, monitor transaction maturities and pending cases, liaise with customers and correspondent banks to resolve queries, support settlement and funding activities, maintain accurate records and documentation, and ensure strict adherence to UCP 600, URDG, ISP98, ICC guidelines, and AML procedures.

Key Responsibilities
Transaction Processing
- Process Trade Finance transactions including Letters of Credit (Import & Export), Bank Guarantees, Documentary Collections, Shipping Guarantees, and Trust Receipts
- Ensure accurate and timely processing in line with agreed service levels and operational standards
- Verify customer instructions and supporting documentation prior to transaction execution
Compliance & Documentation Review
- Review trade documents to ensure compliance with approved facilities, internal policies, and international trade rules
- Ensure strict adherence to UCP 600, URDG, ISP98, ICC guidelines, AML procedures, and sanctions screening
- Maintain accurate transaction records and ensure proper documentation, filing, and archival
Monitoring & Stakeholder Coordination
- Monitor transaction maturities, outstanding obligations, and pending cases
- Liaise effectively with customers, correspondent banks, and internal stakeholders to resolve queries
- Support settlement and funding activities related to trade finance transactions
Risk Management & Continuous Improvement
- Identify, escalate, and assist in mitigating operational, transactional, and compliance risks
- Support internal and external audit reviews with complete and accurate information
- Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and customer experience
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Banking, Commerce, Business Administration, or an equivalent qualification
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Trade Finance Operations within a banking or financial services environment
- Good understanding of funded and non-funded Trade Finance products and transaction processing
Technical Knowledge
- Working knowledge of international trade practices, SWIFT messaging, and trade finance systems
- Understanding of UCP 600, URDG, ISP98, ICC Guidelines, and related regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of AML, sanctions compliance, and operational risk controls
Essential Skills
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in transaction processing
- Analytical and problem-solving capabilities with effective stakeholder management
