Position Overview
As a Quality Lab Technician, you will perform routine and specialized tests on sand samples, calibrate and operate laboratory equipment, and monitor incoming raw materials and finished products for compliance with specifications. You’ll maintain accurate laboratory records, support corrective and preventive actions for non-conforming materials, and collaborate closely with production and operations teams to drive continuous quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Testing & Analysis
- Perform routine and specialized tests on sand samples including sieve analysis and grain size distribution
- Conduct API/ISO standard testing relevant to oilfield sand, including frac sand testing where applicable
- Record and interpret test results accurately and promptly
- Calibrate and operate laboratory equipment and instruments
Quality Control
- Monitor incoming raw materials and finished products for compliance with specifications
- Identify and report deviations from quality standards
- Support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for non-conforming materials
Documentation, Equipment & HSE
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, test logs and prepare daily, weekly and monthly quality reports
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning and calibration of lab equipment
- Follow all HSE policies and ensure safe handling of materials and chemicals
- Support internal and external audits and inspections
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Geology, or a related field
Experience Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience in a laboratory or quality control role
- Background in oilfield services, sand processing plants, or construction materials testing preferred
- UAE experience is an advantage
Essential Skills
- Knowledge of laboratory testing methods for sand and aggregates
- Familiarity with API/ISO standards preferred
- Proficiency in using lab equipment and data recording systems
- Basic computer skills including MS Excel and reporting tools
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and teamwork
- Physical fitness suitable for a plant/lab environment and willingness to work in remote locations
