Position Overview
The Food Safety Supervisor is responsible for ensuring GMG Everyday Goods stores comply with all applicable food safety legislation, standards, and procedures. This role involves conducting regular inspections and scheduled food safety audits, overseeing implementation of food safety programs, monitoring food handling practices, ensuring proper receiving, storage, and display of food products, and delivering staff training to minimize contamination risks. The Supervisor also acts as the primary point of contact for all food safety matters, including external audits.

Key Responsibilities
Food Safety Management Systems
- Actively participate in development and implementation of HACCP / ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Systems, programs, and processes in Everyday Goods stores
- Develop and update food safety procedures, guidelines, and manuals according to evolving business requirements
Training & Staff Development
- Deliver various levels of internal food safety training, including Basic Food Safety, HACCP Awareness, Allergens Awareness, and SOP Awareness
- Identify and coordinate external training as per Emirate-level regulatory requirements for store employees
- Analyze training effectiveness, maintain training records, and assess employee awareness to bridge knowledge gaps
Audits & Investigations
- Plan and conduct internal food safety audits of store operations and related activities, ensuring timely corrective action plans
- Conduct investigations to identify root causes of food safety-related customer complaints, regulatory inspections, and incidents
- Conduct supplier evaluations and on-site audits for new and existing high-risk suppliers to ensure source safety
Risk Management & Reporting
- Perform periodic risk assessments and hazard analyses when introducing new products or processes
- Analyze trends and occurrences related to food safety and prepare monthly performance reports
- Maintain regular communication with regulatory bodies to stay informed of new requirements and ensure timely implementation
