Key Responsibilities
Microbiological Testing & Supervision
- Perform and supervise microbiological testing of drinking water, wastewater, and food samples
- Conduct microbiological analysis using Membrane Filtration, Multiple-Tube (MPN), and Standard Plate Count (SPC) methods
- Ensure all testing produces accurate, reliable results in accordance with established laboratory standards
Gram Staining & Bacterial Culture Preparation
- Perform Gram staining procedures for bacterial identification and differentiation
- Prepare and manage bacterial cultures as part of the standard microbiological workflow
- Maintain proper aseptic technique and biosafety procedures throughout all culture and staining activities
Quality Control & Laboratory Management
- Ensure quality control procedures are strictly followed across all microbiological laboratory activities
- Manage laboratory activities, maintain adequate supplies, and ensure inventory levels support continuous operations
- Maintain organized laboratory documentation and records in compliance with applicable standards
Royal Commission Coordination
- Coordinate formally with the Royal Commission’s Environmental Health Department regarding laboratory testing activities
- Ensure all external reporting and coordination follows required regulatory and institutional protocols
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or a related scientific field
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in microbiological laboratory settings
- Practical experience with Membrane Filtration, Multiple-Tube, and Standard Plate Count analytical methods is expected
Language Requirements
