Position Overview
Join the dynamic team as an Assistant Waiter in the vibrant city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates! SO/ Hotels is seeking a friendly and customer-focused individual to support dining service operations and ensure an exceptional guest experience, assisting the lead waiter in serving food and beverages while maintaining cleanliness and organization of the dining area.
Why This Role Matters:Â As Assistant Waiter at SO/ Hotels, you support the lead waiter in serving food and beverages, ensuring guests enjoy a seamless dining experience, greet and seat guests, providing menus and answering basic questions about menu items, take and relay drink orders to the bar staff while refilling water glasses and attending to guest needs, collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food delivery, process payments and handle cash transactions when necessary, and build valuable food and beverage service skills within a fashion-rooted, avant-garde luxury hotel brand.
Key Responsibilities
Dining Service Support
- Assist the lead waiter in serving food and beverages to guests
- Set and clear tables, ensuring proper placement of cutlery, glassware, and dishes
Guest Interaction
- Greet and seat guests, providing menus and answering basic questions about menu items
- Refill water glasses and attend to other guest needs throughout their dining experience
Order Coordination
- Take and relay drink orders to the bar staff
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food delivery
Cleanliness, Payments & Compliance
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the dining area
- Process payments and handle cash transactions when necessary
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards
- Participate in pre-shift meetings and ongoing training sessions
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
Essential Skills
- Strong communication skills with fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic or other languages is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and supportive demeanor
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and carry trays of food and beverages
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and calculating bills
