Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
Engineering Design, Calculations & Technical Documentation
- Prepare engineering calculations and technical designs for standing seam roofing systems — ensuring designs meet structural, thermal, weatherproofing, and performance requirements
- Prepare detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation details using AutoCAD — providing complete production and site instruction documentation for roofing and cladding packages
- Prepare accurate Material Take-Offs (MTO) and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) — supporting procurement, cost management, and project scheduling with reliable quantity data
- Prepare and submit technical submittals, material approval packages, method statements, and related technical documentation — managing the consultant and client approval process from submission through sign-off
Specification Review, RFI Management & Compliance
- Review project specifications, tender documents, IFC drawings, and contract requirements — identifying technical obligations, design constraints, and compliance requirements before design commences
- Ensure all designs and drawings comply with manufacturing capabilities, installation methodologies, and site execution requirements — bridging the gap between engineering design and physical construction
- Respond to technical queries and prepare RFIs during project execution — providing prompt, accurate engineering responses that keep projects on programme
- Ensure compliance with applicable UAE local authority requirements, project specifications, engineering codes, and international standards throughout all design deliverables
Coordination, Site Support & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, architects, structural engineers, production teams, and installation teams to ensure smooth project execution across all roofing and cladding works
- Provide engineering and technical support to site and installation teams — resolving design issues in the field and clarifying installation detail requirements as they arise
- Attend technical meetings with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders when required — representing NAFFCO’s technical position and driving design resolution
- Coordinate design changes and revisions throughout the project lifecycle — maintaining proper documentation, revision control, and change management discipline
- Identify and resolve design and technical issues related to roofing and cladding systems — applying practical engineering judgement to find constructable, compliant solutions
Qualifications & Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a closely related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in standing seam roofing and metal cladding systems — including hands-on design, detailing, and project engineering responsibility
- Strong practical and technical knowledge of standing seam roofing system components, detailing principles, and installation requirements
- Advanced AutoCAD proficiency — proven ability to produce shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation detail drawings to production-ready standard
- Experience preparing MTO/BOQ, technical submittals, material approvals, and method statements for building envelope projects
- Experience coordinating with consultants, clients, production, and site teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and IFC drawings and translate them into standing seam roofing design solutions
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Revit and/or Tekla — a significant advantage for BIM-integrated project environments
