Position Overview
The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating Ground Support Equipment and assisting with the aircraft turnaround activities to ensure safe and efficient Ramp Operations. Duties include using headsets to communicate with flight crew and ground teams during pushback operations, towing aircraft and ground equipment, and performing aircraft pushback procedures.
Why This Role Matters:Â As Equipment Operator (Pushback), you operate Ground Service Equipment as trained to support safe, efficient aircraft turnaround, check cargo holds and surrounding areas for abnormalities, damage, or unidentified items, ensure GSE remains in good working condition through basic checks and strict SOP adherence, communicate directly with flight crew and ground teams via headset during pushback operations, tow aircraft and ground equipment while performing precise pushback procedures, and report safety, security, and service occurrences through established reporting procedures to maintain a secure ramp environment.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Operation & Safety Checks
- Operate any type of Ground Service Equipment they are trained to use as instructed
- Ensure GSE is in good working condition by performing basic checks and adhering to SOPs
Cargo & Aircraft Inspection
- Check cargo holds and surrounding areas for abnormalities, damage, or unidentified items
- Assist with loading and unloading baggage and cargo
Pushback Operations & Communication
- Use headsets to communicate with flight crew and ground teams during pushback operations
- Tow aircraft and ground equipment while performing aircraft pushback procedures
Compliance & Reporting
- Comply with UAE law and Velora/customer airline procedures for quality, safety, and security
- Report safety, security, and service occurrences, errors, hazards, and near misses through established procedures
- Ensure compliance with operational procedures, including the use of handheld devices
