Position Overview
This Receiving Associate role involves receiving and staging merchandise by department, stacking received merchandise on pallets or carts, and completing requisition forms for inventory and supplies. You will receive deliveries, store perishables properly, rotate stock, inspect deliveries for freshness and quality, refuse damaged or incorrect items, adhere to food safety policies, and organize, clean, and sanitize refrigerators, freezers, floors, and food equipment.

Key Responsibilities
Merchandise Receiving & Staging
- Receive and stage merchandise by department, mark appropriately for placement in facility
- Deliver merchandise to the appropriate department and stack on pallets or carts
- Complete requisition forms for inventory and supplies, notifying manager of low stock levels
Quality Inspection & Food Safety
- Receive deliveries, store perishables properly, and rotate stock
- Inspect deliveries and date items to verify freshness, cleanliness, consistency, and quality
- Refuse acceptance of damaged, unacceptable, or incorrect items
- Adhere to food safety and handling policies and procedures across all food-related areas
Cleanliness & Safety Compliance
- Organize, clean, and sanitize refrigerators, freezers, floors, food equipment, and drains
- Remove empty pallets, cardboard, and trash to proper storage areas
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; complete safety training and certifications

Physical Requirements
