Position Overview
This SCM Buyer role involves managing end-to-end procurement activities for project requirements at a leading global energy and engineering company in Abu Dhabi. You will source and qualify suppliers, negotiate commercial agreements, handle logistics, customs clearance, transportation, and manpower services, expedite orders to ensure timely delivery, monitor supplier performance, and support bid and proposal teams with sourcing and market information within industrial, EPC, power, and turnkey project environments.

Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing
- Manage procurement activities for project requirements across industrial and EPC portfolios
- Source and qualify suppliers for tailored and customized equipment
- Negotiate commercial agreements ensuring cost, quality, and delivery targets are met
- Support bid and proposal teams with sourcing and market information
Logistics & Order Management
- Handle logistics, customs clearance, and transportation for project shipments
- Coordinate manpower services and project-related procurement needs
- Expedite orders and ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery or quality issues promptly
Supplier & Contract Management
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures
- Maintain strong vendor relationships across GCC and international suppliers
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and project teams
- Manage contract terms and conditions for industrial and power project procurement
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with engineering, project, and finance teams on procurement planning
- Support turnkey project delivery through coordinated supply chain execution
- Travel across GCC countries when required to support sourcing and supplier visits
- Ensure alignment between procurement activities and overall project timelines
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field
Experience Requirements
- 7 to 10 years of procurement and supply chain experience in a project environment
- Minimum 5 years of experience procuring tailored/customized equipment
- Experience with large industrial, EPC, energy, manufacturing, or turnkey projects
Essential Skills
- Strong knowledge of logistics, contracts, supplier management, and sourcing
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Fluent in English (written and verbal)
- Willingness to travel across GCC countries when required
