Position Overview
This Agricultural Loan Specialist role works closely with Farm Loan Managers to administer farm loan programs within assigned counties. The position is developmental, meaning you will receive both on-the-job and classroom training in the administration of farm loan programs, and following successful completion of the Farm Loan Training Program you will take on the full range of duties below.

Key Responsibilities
Applicant Review & Eligibility
- Conduct interviews with loan applicants and review loan applications
- Make preliminary inquiries to develop factual information that helps assess applicant eligibility
- Build working knowledge of agency farm loan programs and eligibility requirements
Borrower Guidance & Loan Servicing
- Provide technical advice, guidance, and credit counseling to applicants and borrowers
- Service all types of agency farm loans within your delegated authority
- Work closely with Farm Loan Managers in your assigned counties
Agricultural & Financial Knowledge
- Apply technical knowledge of farm financing, credit, and financial management concepts
- Understand farm operations, land use and value, and production and marketing of crops and livestock
- Stay current on prices and markets within the local farming areas you serve
