Position Overview
As Area Shift Leader – PCBA at Eaton Dubai, you lead and coordinate operations within a designated area of the PCBA line during assigned shifts, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. You will oversee multiple SMT and THT assembly lines or zones, optimize manpower and equipment utilization, enforce IPC-A-610 workmanship standards, and drive continuous improvement through 5S, Lean, and Kaizen initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Production Oversight & Flow
- Oversee and coordinate production activities across multiple SMT and THT PCBA assembly lines or zones
- Maintain smooth and balanced production flow from SMT, THT, testing, inspection, to packing
- Optimize manpower deployment, material readiness, and equipment utilization across lines and zones
- Ensure consistent implementation of ECO/MCO changes across both SMT and THT
Quality & Compliance
- Enforce compliance with IPC-A-610 workmanship standards and company quality requirements
- Conduct regular Layer Process audits to assess operator expertise and define improvement plans
- Enforce ESD controls, safety rules, IPC workmanship standards, and Eaton MESH requirements
Team Leadership & Communication
- Provide leadership and operational guidance to operators to achieve area-level performance targets (OEE, FPY, delivery)
- Conduct area-level shift handovers, communicating priorities and known issues to incoming teams
- Drive operator engagement through coaching, recognition, and constructive feedback
Data, Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
- Maintain accurate area production documentation, including dashboards, MES data, and shift reports
- Utilize digital dashboards, traceability systems, and analytics tools (MES, OEE, yield charts)
- Resolve escalated production issues, coordinating fast support from Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance
- Support sustainability goals by reducing waste and optimizing consumable usage
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives including 5S, Lean, and Kaizen
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Technical Diploma or Vocational Certificate in Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field
Experience Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in PCB assembly or electronics manufacturing
- Prior experience as a senior operator, line leader, or technician with informal leadership responsibilities is a strong advantage
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience with SMT machines for setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting (Panasonic SMT machines an advantage)
- Familiarity with SMT and THT processes, including reflow soldering and Automated Optical Inspection (AOI)
- Understanding of IPC-A-610 standards and ESD safety practices
- Basic knowledge of production documentation, work instructions, and quality checks
- Strong problem-solving, adaptability, and team-building abilities
