Position Overview
The Blow Moulding Plant Engineer at Almarai Al Kharj assists the Blow Moulding Plant Manager in ensuring that all plant operations run cost-effectively, on schedule, and with maximum efficiency — delivering high-quality plastic packaging products that meet Almarai’s stringent quality standards. You will apply your competency in plastic processing, your knowledge of blow moulding production systems, your understanding of ISO 9000 quality standards, and your familiarity with GMP environments to support daily plant operations, maintain production quality, and contribute to the continuous operational improvement that has made Almarai’s Al Kharj facility one of the most productive food manufacturing sites in the Kingdom. Key Responsibilities
Blow Moulding Plant Operations Support
- Assist the Blow Moulding Plant Manager in ensuring cost-effective, timely, and efficient operation of the blow moulding production plant
- Support the daily operational activities of the plant to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality plastic packaging products
- Monitor production processes, equipment performance, and output quality to identify and address issues before they impact production
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of plant efficiency, output quality, and cost performance across all production areas
Plastic Processing & Quality Standards
- Apply competency in plastic processing to support the production of high-quality packaging in line with Almarai’s product specifications
- Maintain awareness and application of industry norms and best practices relevant to blow moulding and plastic manufacturing operations
- Ensure full compliance with ISO 9000-2000 quality standards and GMP requirements across all plant operations and activities
- Support quality assurance and quality control activities within the plant to uphold Almarai’s world-class product quality standards
Technical Problem Solving & Engineering Support
- Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues within the blow moulding plant environment efficiently and with minimal production disruption
- Apply Mechanical or Electrical Engineering expertise to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve plant equipment and production systems
- Collaborate with plant management, maintenance, and quality teams to address operational challenges and implement solutions
- Contribute to technical documentation, operational procedures, and engineering records for the blow moulding plant function
Communication & Cross-Team Collaboration
- Communicate clearly and effectively in English — both verbally and in writing — with plant management, technical teams, and stakeholders
- Coordinate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure smooth, integrated plant operations across all shifts
- Support the plant manager with operational reporting, planning inputs, and performance data as required for management review
- Participate actively in team meetings, operational reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Al Kharj facility
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or institution
- Additional qualifications or certifications in plastic processing, manufacturing engineering, or quality management are an advantage
Experience Requirements
- Five (5) years of experience in a similar engineering position within the plastic industry — blow moulding experience is essential
- Strong competency in plastic processing techniques and a solid awareness of industry norms and manufacturing best practices
- Excellent appreciation of or direct exposure to ISO 9000-2000 quality standards and GMP production environment requirements
- Experience in the production of cultured products is preferred and will be considered a meaningful advantage
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English — mandatory for all Almarai engineering roles at Al Kharj
