Position Overview
This Cadet Technician role involves carrying out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities independently, in accordance with approved maintenance manuals, work instructions, and safety procedures. You will assist in inspections, technical cleaning, testing, fault finding, and rectification of rolling stock systems, ensure accurate completion of maintenance records and defect reports, and comply with health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements while working in depots, workshops, and on-site locations.

 Key Responsibilities
Operational Maintenance
- Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities independently per approved manuals and procedures
- Assist in inspections, technical cleaning, testing, fault finding, and rectification of rolling stock systems
- Ensure accurate completion of maintenance records, checklists, and defect reports
- Comply with health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements in depots, workshops, and on-site locations
Financial & Strategic Contribution
- Assist in minimizing maintenance costs by following correct maintenance practices and avoiding rework
- Support proper use, handling, and care of tools, equipment, and spare parts
- Assist in identifying defects or observations early to prevent costly failures or service disruptions
- Contribute to a safe, reliable, and efficient metro operation by adhering to approved procedures

Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- ITI or Diploma in electrical, electronics, mechanical, or automobile engineering discipline, or equivalent
Experience Requirements
- Fresher or candidate with up to 1 year of technical experience
First Year Competencies
- Basic understanding of technical systems, train and depot equipment configuration
- Ability to use simple tools and measuring instruments correctly
- Basic maintenance documentation and safety awareness, including PPE requirements
- Discipline, clear communication, and cooperative teamwork
Second Year Onwards Competencies
- Understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
