Position Overview
This CP – Electrical Engineer (Transmission Line) role supervises and monitors transmission line construction, installation, erection, testing, and related activities, ensuring works are carried out per approved drawings, method statements, and specifications. You will conduct site inspections, review work permits and risk assessments, coordinate with Construction, Engineering, QA/QC, and HSE teams, monitor tower erection and conductor stringing, ensure safety controls near energized systems, and stop unsafe work where necessary.

Key Responsibilities
Site Supervision & Compliance
- Act as the Competent Person (CP) for transmission line construction and site activities
- Supervise and monitor construction, installation, erection, testing, and related activities
- Ensure all works comply with approved drawings, method statements, and specifications
Safety Inspections & Risk Management
- Conduct site inspections and identify unsafe conditions, hazards, and potential risks
- Review and verify work permits, risk assessments, and method statements
- Ensure proper safety controls during work near energized electrical systems and existing utilities
Coordination & Technical Support
- Coordinate with Construction, Engineering, QA/QC, HSE, and client teams to resolve issues
- Monitor lifting, excavation, tower erection, stringing, and conductor installation activities
- Verify personnel, tools, equipment, and work methods are suitable and compliant
- Conduct toolbox talks and provide technical/safety guidance to site personnel
Incident Reporting & Documentation
- Report incidents, near misses, unsafe acts/conditions, and non-conformities
- Support corrective actions and maintain inspection records, checklists, and CP documentation
- Liaise with client/consultant to ensure compliance with specific requirements
- Stop or suspend unsafe work where necessary and ensure corrective measures are implemented
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- BE/BTech/Diploma in Electrical Engineering
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Transmission Line projects
- UAE/GCC project experience preferred
Mandatory Certification
- Valid ADNOC or TAQA Approval as Competent Person (CP) – Mandatory
Essential Skills
- Strong knowledge of transmission line construction and site activities
- Good understanding of HSE requirements, work permits, risk assessments, and safe working practices
- Good communication and coordination skills
