Key Responsibilities
Master Planning Layouts & Urban Design Drawings
- Prepare master planning layouts, land-use plans, and urban design drawings — producing technically accurate, design-quality planning documents that reflect project objectives, client requirements, and applicable UAE planning regulations and development control standards
- Develop drawings and technical packages using Revit and AutoCAD — maintaining documentation quality and version control standards appropriate for a major international engineering consultancy where planning documentation accuracy is both a technical and contractual requirement
- Conduct site analysis, zoning reviews, and development control checks — systematically evaluating site constraints, planning policy context, authority development control requirements, and project objectives to inform planning layout decisions with sound technical and regulatory justification
- Prepare high-quality presentations, diagrams, and reports using Adobe Creative Suite — producing clear, visually compelling communication materials that effectively convey planning concepts, design rationale, and project outcomes to both technical and non-technical client and stakeholder audiences
MPLS & UAE Authority Submission
- Support the preparation of MPLS (Master Plan Local Submission) and all related authority submission documents — assembling technically complete, accurately formatted, and fully compliant submission packages that meet the specific requirements of the relevant UAE planning authority for each project
- Assist in coordination and follow-up for planning approvals with UAE authorities — including Dubai Municipality, Abu Dhabi Department of Municipalities and Transport, and other relevant regulatory bodies — managing the submission tracking, communication, and response cycle professionally and on schedule
- Incorporate authority comments and revise plans accordingly — applying a systematic approach to authority comment review, coordinating with the internal project team on required design responses, and producing revised submission documents that address all regulatory observations clearly and completely
- Apply a solid technical understanding of Dubai and Abu Dhabi planning regulations and authority processes — bringing direct familiarity with the submission requirements, review procedures, and approval workflows of the UAE’s primary planning authorities to improve submission quality and approval timelines
Multidisciplinary Coordination & Team Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, landscape designers, and other disciplines within Egis’s multidisciplinary project teams — maintaining clear communication, coordinating design inputs across disciplines, and ensuring that master planning layouts accurately reflect and integrate the contributions of all relevant technical specialists
- Support senior planners in project delivery from concept to approval stages — contributing reliable technical output, proactive progress tracking, and responsive coordination support that enables senior planners to focus on higher-level planning strategy and client management

Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, or a related field — from a recognised university; candidates with a relevant planning or design qualification and direct UAE master planning experience will be given strong priority consideration
- Additional professional qualifications, planning institute membership, or GCC-specific urban planning certifications are advantageous and demonstrate a commitment to professional development in the UAE’s planning and urban design sector
Experience Requirements
