Key Responsibilities

Grower Prospecting & Agricultural Sales

  • Develop new grower prospects within the Holley, New York territory through relationship-building and targeted outreach
  • Interact regularly with existing growers to increase agricultural inputs sales and meet or exceed defined sales goals
  • Manage sales activities to achieve profit margin goals — balancing volume growth with sustainable profitability targets
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase sales of Nutrien’s proprietary products including Loveland Products, Proven® Seed, and Dyna-Gro® Seed

Agronomic Consulting & Crop Problem Resolution

  • Consult directly with growers on agricultural issues — diagnosing crop challenges and prescribing appropriate, science-based solutions
  • Resolve issues associated with adverse product results, ensuring growers receive the support and follow-up they need
  • Apply working knowledge of agricultural chemicals and crop inputs to recommend the most effective and sustainable solutions

Customer Satisfaction & Relationship Management

  • Assure customer satisfaction of all products and services — including on-time, accurate delivery and consistent product quality

Credit Management & Accounts Receivable

  • Perform initial credit reviews of new customers — assessing credit risk and providing information to the Credit Manager
  • Support the establishment of appropriate credit limits in collaboration with the Credit Manager based on customer assessment
  • Collect outstanding accounts receivable from customers in a professional, relationship-preserving manner
  • Maintain accurate records of customer account status and escalate collection issues appropriately when required

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • University degree is preferred — in agriculture, agronomy, crop science, business, or a related discipline
  • In lieu of a university degree — a high school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years of agriculture experience is required

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience using standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the agriculture industry
  • Hands-on experience with the application of agricultural chemicals and crop protection products in a farm or consulting context
  • Previous sales experience in agriculture, crop inputs, or related rural industries is a strong and valued advantage

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in computer programmes such as Microsoft Word and Excel for customer documentation and sales reporting
