Position Overview
As Data Scientist, you design, build and deploy advanced analytics and machine learning solutions. You create scalable data science workflows on Databricks, Apache Spark and cloud data platforms, and do exploratory analysis, feature engineering, statistical modelling, clustering, forecasting and predictive analytics. You work with Data Engineering on pipelines, use large data sets from transactions, operations and customers, and track experiments and models with MLflow. You monitor and improve model performance, explain findings to technical and non-technical people, support dashboards and self-service analytics with Power BI, and follow good software engineering practice.

Key Responsibilities
Modelling
- Design, build and deploy advanced analytics and machine learning solutions
- Do exploratory analysis, feature engineering, statistical modelling, clustering, forecasting and predictive analytics
- Monitor and improve model performance through experiments and validation
Platform & Pipelines
- Build scalable workflows on Databricks, Apache Spark and cloud data platforms
- Develop and optimise data pipelines with Data Engineering
- Use MLflow for experiment tracking, model management and reproducibility
Communication & Practice
- Present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Support dashboards and self-service analytics with Power BI
- Apply good practice in software engineering, version control, testing and documentation
Qualifications
Education
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in data science, mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics, engineering or a related quantitative field
Experience & Skills
- Strong Python for analysis, machine learning and automation
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, Apache Spark and PySpark, and strong SQL and data modelling
- Applied machine learning and statistics on business problems, with ML libraries and MLflow
- Knowledge of feature engineering, validation, performance evaluation and explainability
- Git workflows and collaborative development
Personal & Language
- Able to explain technical ideas to non-technical people
- English at C1, German at B2 desirable
- Nice to have: Databricks certification in data and analytics
