Position Overview
The Factory Director provides both strategic and hands-on leadership across multiple factories, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality products in a reliable, cost-effective, and timely manner while driving operational excellence, financial performance, and continuous improvement. This is a highly hands-on leadership role requiring deep expertise in meat and poultry manufacturing.
Why This Role Matters: As Factory Director, you lead the end-to-end performance of all factories, setting clear priorities, targets, governance, and accountability for each location, provide technical and operational leadership for poultry thawing, cutting, marination, packing, and vegetable processing, own the implementation and effectiveness of HACCP, GMP, sanitation, and food safety programs across every factory, lead greenfield and brownfield factory projects from feasibility through construction, commissioning, and final handover, own factory operating budgets, production costing, and capital expenditure proposals across the network, and lead, coach, and develop factory managers and functional leaders across all locations, building a collaborative, high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities
Multi-Site Manufacturing Leadership
- Lead the end-to-end performance of all factories, setting clear priorities and accountability
- Establish common operating standards, management routines, and KPIs across the network
Operational Performance & Processing Leadership
- Ensure production plans are achieved safely, efficiently, and on time
- Provide technical leadership for poultry marination and vegetable processing operations
Food Safety, Quality & HSE
- Own the implementation of HACCP, GMP, sanitation, and recall readiness programs
- Build a strong food safety, quality, and occupational health and safety culture
Factory Development & Capital Projects
- Lead greenfield and brownfield factory projects from feasibility through handover
- Own factory operating budgets and capital expenditure proposals across the network
People Leadership & Risk Management
- Lead, coach, and develop factory managers and functional leaders
- Identify operational risks and maintain effective mitigation and contingency plans
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements (REQUIRED)
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline
- Postgraduate qualification in engineering, operations, business, or supply chain is an advantage
Experience Requirements (REQUIRED)
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in food manufacturing, including poultry, meat, or protein processing
- Minimum 8 years in a senior manufacturing leadership role with responsibility for multiple factories
- Proven experience leading the design, build, commissioning, and start-up of at least one new food manufacturing facility
- Experience in poultry marination is essential; vegetable processing, chilled/frozen foods, or GCC manufacturing experience strongly preferred
Essential Skills (REQUIRED)
- Strong multi-site governance, performance management, and organizational development capability
- Working knowledge of GFSI-recognized food safety standards, HACCP, and OHS requirements
- Competence with ERP and manufacturing systems, such as Oracle
- Fluent written and spoken English; Arabic is an advantage
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently across UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, KSA, and Egypt
