Position Overview
This Farm & Garden Hand position involves the day-to-day care of vegetable gardens, fruit trees, a food forest, laying hens, and a fish pond on a private property in Jupiter, Florida. You will plant, weed, water, fertilize, and harvest garden beds, maintain fruit trees and the food forest, care for the flock of laying hens, mow and maintain grass areas, keep the fish pond clean and running, and help keep tools, equipment, and work areas organized while assisting with seasonal projects and general property maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
Vegetable Garden Care
- Plant, seed, weed, water, fertilize, and harvest vegetable gardens
- Prepare garden beds for new plantings across growing seasons
- Keep garden areas tidy, productive, and well organized
Fruit Trees & Food Forest
- Maintain fruit trees and the food forest through planting, pruning, and mulching
- Fertilize and harvest fruit trees on a regular schedule
- Monitor tree and plant health, flagging issues that need attention
Poultry & Fish Pond Care
- Feed, water, and clean housing for laying hens
- Collect eggs daily and monitor overall flock health
- Maintain the fish pond, including pumps, filtration, vegetation, and cleanliness
Property & Equipment Maintenance
- Mow and maintain grass areas across the property
- Keep farm tools, equipment, supplies, and work areas clean and organized
- Safely operate basic lawn and farm equipment and hand tools
- Assist with seasonal projects and general property maintenance
Communication & Inventory
- Monitor inventory and order routine farm supplies as needed
- Prepare and email a weekly list of produce, eggs, and other available farm items
- Communicate farm needs, supply needs, or issues by email
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience Requirements
- Previous experience in farming, gardening, horticulture, nursery work, poultry care, or property maintenance preferred
