This Ground Systems Manager role involves developing ground systems strategies and architectures, managing mission control, ground stations, communications and data processing systems, overseeing telemetry acquisition, command generation and execution monitoring, leading integration, verification and validation activities, monitoring ground-system performance and availability, managing configuration and change control, supporting launch and mission operations, and ensuring cybersecurity controls throughout ground-system architecture and operations.

Key Responsibilities
Ground Systems Strategy & Architecture
- Develop ground systems strategies, architectures, standards and lifecycle plans
- Lead the design and development of ground systems supporting satellite and spacecraft missions
- Define functional, technical, operational, performance and security requirements
Infrastructure & Communications Management
- Oversee ground station infrastructure including antennas, RF equipment, modems and transmitters
- Manage telemetry, tracking, command, mission planning and spacecraft-control capabilities
- Coordinate RF, optical, fiber, satellite and terrestrial communications infrastructure
Integration, Testing & Anomaly Management
- Lead ground-system development, integration, verification and validation activities
- Coordinate factory acceptance, site acceptance and mission-readiness testing
- Lead anomaly investigation, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and system recovery
Mission Operations & Cybersecurity
- Support spacecraft launch, early-orbit operations, commissioning and routine operations
- Coordinate mission simulations, rehearsals and operational readiness exercises
- Ensure cybersecurity controls throughout ground-system architecture and operations
- Establish access controls, authentication, network segmentation and incident-response requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience Requirements
- Proven experience managing complex aerospace or space ground systems
- Experience with telemetry, tracking, command, mission planning and mission-control systems
- Experience integrating ground systems with spacecraft, payloads and launch vehicles
Essential Skills
- Strong understanding of spacecraft ground segments and end-to-end mission architectures
- Strong knowledge of ground-station infrastructure, RF communications and network systems
- Strong systems-engineering knowledge covering requirements, interfaces and lifecycle management
