Key Responsibilities
Daily Inventory Counts & Stock Accuracy
- Conduct daily cycle counts (Cycle Counting) and ad-hoc inventory checks throughout the distribution facility — accurately recording all stock levels and systematically identifying and investigating any discrepancies that arise during normal daily operations
- Perform recounts as required and prepare comprehensive inventory reports — documenting all findings, variance causes, and corrective actions taken to restore inventory accuracy to required standards
- Ensure that all Bio-Rad products — medical instruments, spare parts, reagent kits, and consumables — are present in the correct quantity at the correct storage location at all times across the 20,000m² facility
- Maintain the highest standards of inventory data quality — ensuring all stock records in ERP and WMS systems accurately reflect physical inventory levels throughout each working day
Internal Goods Movements & Warehouse Operations
- Execute all internal warehouse goods movements — including replenishment activities, cancel pick operations, stock relocations, and consolidation of storage locations as required by daily operational needs
- Manage product expiry and scrapping processes — systematically processing items that have reached their minimum shelf life (MHD) and conducting disposal activities for items requiring ad-hoc removal from inventory
- Process all returns of every type — handling reverse logistics activities accurately and ensuring that returned goods are correctly assessed, documented, and managed within the warehouse management system
- Operate front and reach forklifts (Front- und Schubmaststaplerfahrer) safely and competently — holding a valid Gabelstaplerschein with G25/G41 suitability for all required lifting and storage operations
Reporting, Statistics & Documentation
- Support the preparation of inventory-related reports for management — contributing accurate data, trend analysis, and operational insights to support informed inventory management decisions
- Maintain and regularly update all required statistics, logs, and operational records — ensuring all documentation is current, accurate, and readily available for operational review and compliance purposes
- Apply strong numerical aptitude and careful working practices to all counting, recording, and reporting activities — maintaining the precision standards essential to inventory control in a regulated life science distribution environment
- Contribute to continuous improvement of inventory accuracy and warehouse efficiency — identifying recurring discrepancy patterns and suggesting practical process improvements to management
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational & Professional Requirements
- Completed vocational training (Abgeschlossene Ausbildung) in logistics, warehouse management, or a comparable field — required as the minimum professional qualification for this position
- Initial professional experience in inventory management or stock counting activities — preferably within a structured warehouse or distribution centre environment
Technical Skills
- Experience working with handheld scanners and voice-directed technology — as used in modern high-performance distribution and warehouse management operations
- Proficient and confident use of common Microsoft Office applications — including Excel, Word, and Outlook for reporting, documentation, and team communication purposes
- User knowledge of ERP and WMS systems — SAP is strongly preferred given its role as the primary system in the Bio-Rad Großkugel distribution centre
- Understanding of warehouse goods flow, safety and compliance regulations, and quality standards applicable to a regulated life science distribution environment
Licenses & Additional Skills
- Valid Gabelstaplerschein (Forklift License) with practical driving experience on both front and reach forklifts — including G25/G41 medical suitability certification is required
