Hörmann Middle East FZE is seeking a hands-on Logistics Lead in Dubai to take ownership of freight coordination, shipment execution, provider sourcing and negotiation, freight-cost control, invoice verification, logistics reporting, process compliance, and continuous improvement across Middle East and Africa operations. This is not a supervision-only role – the successful candidate personally manages operational cases while guiding and improving support work.

Position Overview
The Logistics Lead secures competitive and reliable shipping solutions while considering freight-market volatility, route changes, urgent cases, and regional disruptions. This role builds and maintains a strong network of freight forwarders and logistics providers for sea, air, road, cross-trade, and final-delivery requirements, provides accurate logistics data and provider performance reports, and improves logistics workflows, documentation discipline, and cost-control practices across day-to-day operations for Middle East and Africa operations.

Key Responsibilities
Shipment Execution & Coordination
- Plan, book, track, and close inbound, outbound, cross-trade, and final-delivery shipments
- Coordinate with suppliers, customers, sales, finance, warehouse, procurement, drivers, and external logistics partners
- Manage shipment issues, inventory concerns, documentation gaps, customs or port coordination, and urgent recovery through to closure
Freight Provider Management & Cost Control
- Source, evaluate, qualify, and develop freight forwarders and logistics providers for sea, air, and road freight
- Negotiate rates and service conditions, conduct RFQs, benchmark offers, and recommend the best total-value solution
- Develop alternative routes, ports, transport modes, and recovery options for delayed or disrupted shipments
Invoice Verification, Reporting & Compliance
- Verify logistics invoices against approved quotations, agreed rates, and actual service scope before approval
- Challenge invoice discrepancies, demurrage, detention, storage fees, and other avoidable logistics costs
- Maintain accurate SAP/ERP data, ME2M follow-up status, DocuSign approval records, and shipment logs
Leadership, Quality Control & Inventory
- Review the quality and accuracy of logistics support work, guide colleagues, and follow up on pending actions
- Create or improve logistics templates, checklists, reports, and workflows to support efficiency and transparency
- Coordinate inventory movements, stock transfers, and warehouse transactions to support on-time project deliveries
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or Supply Chain; related field certification is an advantage
Experience Requirements
- Proven experience in logistics coordination, freight forwarding, supply chain operations, provider management, invoice verification, and freight-cost control
- Strong UAE freight, customs, and free-zone knowledge, preferably including Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai Trade Portal, UAE Customs, DP World, and Abu Dhabi Ports
- Experience in industries such as building materials, construction materials, door systems, industrial equipment, or project logistics is highly preferred
- SAP/ERP experience is preferred
