Position Overview
The Manager, Water Quality at Atlantis The Palm in Dubai is a full-time, senior leadership role responsible for the complete day-to-day management of the Water Quality Department. You will ensure the efficient treatment, distribution, testing, monitoring, and regulatory compliance of all water systems across the resort — including all swimming pools, spas, waterpark water systems, water features, fountains, and water treatment facilities. This role is accountable for maintaining the highest standards of water quality, health and safety compliance, operational reliability, and team performance while ensuring minimal disruption to the resort’s world-class guest operations. Additionally, you will lead budget preparation, CAPEX planning, workforce management, and team development in full alignment with Kerzner International’s standards and Dubai Municipality requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Water Quality Operations & Treatment Systems
- Manage all Water Quality operations and associated water treatment facilities across the full Atlantis The Palm resort complex including pools, waterpark, spas, and fountains
- Oversee water treatment, filtration, circulation, and chemical dosing systems — ensuring all systems operate efficiently, reliably, and in compliance with applicable standards
- Ensure periodic testing, analysis, and monitoring of water quality parameters across all aquatic systems — maintaining real-time visibility of water quality performance
- Maintain uninterrupted operation of all swimming pools, spas, water features, fountains, and the resort’s world-class waterpark water systems at all times
- Implement preventive maintenance strategies to maximize system reliability, operational efficiency, and minimize unplanned downtime across all water treatment infrastructure
Compliance, Safety & Regulatory Management
- Ensure full compliance with all Dubai Municipality requirements, applicable UAE health regulations, and Kerzner International company policies across all water quality operations
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive records of testing, inspections, certifications, and regulatory submissions — ensuring audit readiness at all times
- Promote safe work practices and ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety procedures across the entire Water Quality team
- Investigate incidents and near-misses thoroughly — implementing effective corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurrence and protect guest and colleague safety
- Review operational logs, inspection reports, and compliance documentation regularly — providing oversight and technical guidance across all water quality activities
Team Leadership, HR & People Development
- Conduct regular performance reviews and establish meaningful individual development plans for all Water Quality department team members
- Coordinate workforce planning, recruitment, training delivery, and succession planning activities within the Water Quality department
- Provide HR leadership for all direct reports — managing recruitment, performance appraisals, PDPs, colleague development, motivation, and disciplinary matters
- Maintain and actively promote an open-door policy — providing advice, guidance, and support to all department colleagues whenever needed
- Ensure 100% compliance with all mandatory training requirements across the department, with Departmental Trainers positively encouraged and supported
Budget, CAPEX & Financial Management
- Assist in preparing the departmental budget and annual forecasts — maintaining financial discipline and ensuring resources are allocated efficiently across water quality operations
- Support CAPEX planning, project justification, implementation, and monitoring for water quality infrastructure upgrades and equipment investment across the resort
- Ensure efficient utilization of departmental resources and apply cost-control measures to optimize operational expenditure without compromising quality or safety standards
- Monitor financial performance against budget — identifying areas of unsatisfactory performance and implementing corrective actions to ensure budget targets are achieved
Cross-Departmental Collaboration & Technical Guidance
- Collaborate effectively with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Health & Safety, and external authorities on all water quality-related matters and projects
- Provide technical guidance and expert recommendations on water quality issues, system performance, and improvement opportunities to resort leadership
- Support audits, inspections, and compliance reviews conducted by Dubai Municipality and other regulatory or certification bodies
- Ensure clear, effective communication between the Water Quality team and all internal and external stakeholders across the resort
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Water Treatment, Facilities Management, or a closely related field is required
- Advanced knowledge in systematic review and troubleshooting of LSS water filtration, technical systems, and public pool operations is highly advantageous
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a leadership or management role — ideally within the water quality, water treatment, or aquatic operations field
- Experience in hospitality, waterparks, large-scale pool operations, or recreational water systems is strongly preferred for this Atlantis resort role
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex water treatment systems including chemical dosing, filtration, circulation, and real-time water quality monitoring
