Position Overview
This Material Planner role involves translating the approved production plan into material requirements by running and maintaining the MRP process in SAP, ensuring timely and accurate generation of purchase requisitions and production orders based on bills of material and planning parameters. You will monitor material availability, manage exceptions and shortages, evaluate stock coverage and obsolescence risks, and coordinate material priorities across Production, Procurement, and Warehouse teams.

Key Responsibilities
MRP Execution & Supply Assurance
- Translate the approved production plan into material requirements by running and maintaining the MRP process in SAP
- Ensure timely and accurate generation of purchase requisitions and production orders based on BOM and planning parameters
- Monitor material availability, identify shortages, and coordinate with Procurement and Suppliers
Exception Management & Inventory Health
- Identify and manage material shortages, delivery delays, and unexpected demand changes
- Lead daily exception reviews, propose corrective actions, and resolve issues through close collaboration
- Evaluate stock coverage, shelf-life, and obsolescence risks, maintaining visibility on materials in transit or on hold
Cross-Functional Coordination & Compliance
- Coordinate material priorities with Production, Procurement, and Warehouse teams
- Provide transparency on critical items, backlog situations, and expediting requirements
- Maintain traceability of material movements and planning changes per EDGE Group standards
- Ensure proper documentation and system updates for audits and KPI reporting
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or a related technical or business field
- Preferred certifications: APICS CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent
Experience Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in Material Planning, Procurement, or Production Control within a manufacturing or engineering organization
- Practical experience running MRP processes using SAP or comparable ERP systems
- Familiarity with BOM structures, lead-time management, and supplier coordination
Essential Skills
- Strong understanding of MRP logic, planning parameters, and master data governance
- Proficiency in SAP MM/MRP modules and Excel-based data analysis
- Analytical and structured approach to identifying material risks and priorities
