Key Responsibilities
Crane & Forklift Operation
- Move controls, devices and levers to drive forklifts transferring materials between unloading, processing, loading and storage areas
- Operate Mobile Harbour Cranes (MHC) for loading and unloading containers from vessels
- Safely operate mobile harbour cranes to handle containers, bulk goods and general cargo
Material Handling & Organization
- Organize and secure stored materials such as bales, super sacks, boxes and pallets
- Load or unload materials manually onto or off pallets, platforms, skids or lifting devices
- Wrap material loads and maintain a clean warehouse premises
Inspections & Safety
- Perform routine pre- and post-shift inspections to ensure crane and equipment systems function properly
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, regulations and international safety standards
- Monitor weight limits and ensure proper balancing of loads
- Identify and report any equipment malfunction
Coordination & Transport Support
- Consult, work and coordinate with supervisors and managers on loading and unloading operations
- Support truck driver duties including hauling cargo, vehicle inspections and hazardous material precautions
- Train drivers working under supervision to distribute shift pressure
- Perform other duties as allotted by a manager or supervisor
🎓 Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- High School certificate; Diploma is a plus
- Technical certification in port operations is an advantage
Certification Requirements
- Valid U.A.E. Heavy Machinery License
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in equipment operation within a terminal or similar industrial environment
- Prior experience operating reach stackers or empty handlers considered a natural progression
- Strong understanding of container terminal operations: vessel logistics, hazardous cargo, break-bulk and special cargo handling
Essential Skills
