Wood is currently recruiting an experienced PMC Material Management Specialist based in Abu Dhabi to support an ADNOC offshore project within its Oil, Gas & New Energies business. This role provides PMC leadership and oversight of materials management activities for offshore construction, ensuring alignment with project specifications, schedules and contractual requirements.

Position Overview

This PMC Material Management Specialist role involves providing PMC leadership and oversight of offshore materials management activities, acting as the PMC focal point for materials control, ensuring compliance with HSE standards, overseeing EPC contractors’ materials management plans and logistics, monitoring inventory levels and critical items, coordinating with procurement and construction teams, and ensuring proper receipt, inspection, tagging, storage and traceability of offshore materials and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

PMC Leadership & Materials Control

  • Provide PMC leadership and oversight of materials management activities for offshore construction
  • Act as the PMC focal point for offshore materials control, ensuring timely availability of materials and equipment
  • Ensure materials handling, storage, preservation and movements comply with HSE standards and regulatory requirements

Contractor & Logistics Oversight

  • Oversee EPC contractors’ materials management plans, logistics strategies, warehousing arrangements and offshore supply chains
  • Review and endorse contractor deliverables including material control procedures, logistics plans and load-out schedules
  • Ensure effective interface management between onshore warehouses, yards, marine logistics and offshore installations

Inventory Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor and control offshore material status, inventory levels, shortages, surpluses and critical items
  • Track and report material movements, offshore inventory, consumption and forecasts
  • Ensure accurate documentation, reporting and close-out of materials records, including surplus management and final handover

Quality, Compliance & Reviews

  • Ensure proper receipt, inspection, tagging, storage, preservation and traceability of offshore materials
  • Monitor compliance with material certification, documentation and quality requirements, including MRBs and NCRs
  • Participate in constructability reviews, offshore readiness reviews, SIMOPS reviews and risk assessments

Coordination & Continuous Improvement

  • Coordinate with procurement, expediting, logistics, construction and project controls teams
  • Act as offshore liaison with EPC contractors, logistics providers, vessel operators and client representatives
  • Promote continuous improvement, best practices and lessons learned in offshore materials management
  • Provide guidance and support to offshore materials coordinators and contractor personnel

🎓 Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in the Offshore/Onshore Oil & Gas industry, including 5 years (preferred) in the GCC region
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar position on mega Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects, managing teams of Specialists, Senior Engineers and Engineers
  • Offshore experience is a must; ADNOC experience is desired
  • PMC experience is required

Essential Skills

  • Fully coherent in all international codes and standards
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English
  • Enthusiastic, conscientious and keen to learn, with a flexible, can-do attitude
  • Working hands-on experience with SPEL
  • Working knowledge and experience of electrical discipline codes, specifications and practices relevant to offshore/onshore oil and gas
  • Previous experience working in the Middle East is an advantage
