Position Overview

This QA QC Inspector role is based in Abu Dhabi and requires performing quality assurance and quality control activities at various stages of service realization, in accordance with API Q1, API Q2, international standards, regulatory requirements, customer expectations and internal procedures. The successful candidate will ensure inspection and verification activities align with API Q2 requirements for Risk Assessment, Service Quality Plans (SQP) and Contingency Planning, while supporting API Q1 requirements related to product realization, risk assessment and management of change.

 Key Responsibilities

Inspection & Verification

  • Perform in-process and final inspections as per drawings, work orders, route cards, specifications and OEM requirements
  • Ensure inspection and verification activities align with API Q2 Risk Assessment, Service Quality Plans and Contingency Planning
  • Inspect purchased items, repaired tools and outsourced processed materials
  • Maintain product identification, traceability and inspection status throughout all stages of operations

Calibration & Equipment Control

  • Conduct and maintain accurate calibration and verification records for measuring and test equipment (TMMDE)
  • Ensure calibration of TMMDE complies with API and applicable international standards
  • Ensure preventive maintenance and calibration activities for critical equipment comply with API Q1 and API Q2 documentation requirements
  • Support equipment qualification and other controls defined under API Q1 and Q2

Documentation & Quality Records

  • Verify process documents including Call Out (Customer PO), Work Instructions, NDT reports, service/test reports, work orders and Certificates of Conformity prior to release
  • Ensure documented information and records meet API Q1 and Q2 requirements for accuracy, completeness, retention and control
  • Identify, monitor and document critical-to-quality (CTQ) characteristics as required by API Q1 and Q2
  • Support development and implementation of Service Quality Plans (SQPs) with documented checkpoints and acceptance criteria

Nonconformity, Risk & Audit Support

  • Report nonconformities promptly to the QA/QC Supervisor or Manager and support Corrective Action per API Q1/Q2 processes
  • Communicate product, process or service risks to the QA/QC Supervisor as part of API Q1/Q2 risk communication
  • Participate in internal audits covering API Q1 and API Q2 elements and support timely closure of findings
  • Authorized to stop unsafe, non-compliant, or high-risk operations

Change Management & Compliance

  • Ensure all temporary and permanent changes are processed per API Q1 and API Q2 change management requirements
  • Ensure compliance with competency, procedure adherence, and equipment qualification controls under API Q1/Q2
  • Support and participate in achieving organizational QHSE objectives
  • Perform additional reasonable tasks aligned with competency, as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • High Secondary education or equivalent in Mechanical or similar Engineering discipline

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a QA/QC role (Minimum requirement)
  • Hands-on experience with Inspection, Testing, Measuring, Monitoring & Detection Equipment (TMMDE)
  • Experience in calibration of TMMDE in accordance with API and applicable international standards
  • Prior experience in the Oil & Gas industry is highly advantageous

Essential Skills

  • Knowledge of quality inspection procedures, measurement techniques and documentation
  • Effective communication skills; fluent in English reading and speaking
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong team collaboration skills and adaptability to changing processes and priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Familiarity with machine shop inspection processes and downhole tools is a plus
  • Knowledge of ISO, ASTM, DS-1 Vol III & IV standards is an advantage
