Position Overview
This pediatric intensive care role is hands-on home nursing. You will carry out medically delegated care, watch vital signs and ventilation, support children in kindergarten or school and guide parents so they can care for their child safely.
Key Responsibilities
Medical & Intensive Care
- Carry out medically delegated care such as dressing changes, giving medication, suctioning, checking vital signs and monitoring ventilation
- Provide constant supervision during intensive home care, because life-threatening situations can arise at any time
Daily Care & Support
- Provide personal care, feeding, transfers to a wheelchair and positioning to relieve the family
- Accompany children at kindergarten or school as a nursing professional
Parent Guidance
- Advise, instruct and train parents so they can care for their child at times without a care service
Qualifications & Requirements
Qualification
- Registered nursing professional with completed three-year training (pediatric or general nurse, nursing specialist, or geriatric nurse with experience or additional qualification in pediatric intensive care)
Passion
- Enjoyment of working with children and young people who need care
